Sound

Decisions (Roman Haubenstock Ramati, 1961)

A graphic score is generally an abstract graphic to be transfered into sound in a free-associative way. It serves as both impulse trigger and structure model for a creative process, that usually starts with establishing correspondences between visual and auditory material; i.e. between shape classes, like circle, rectangle or triangle, and sound classes, like tone, noise or chord. As the title ‘Decisions’ suggests, the interpretation funds on a decision-making process.
