‘Casual music’ for piano & cello (2011)
The piece belongs to the genre of mobiles; each individual part provides a number of sequences, to be executed in any sucession, and repeated any number of times; durations are flexible, tempo is free, parts are not synchronized. The piano-part is noted in conventional notation, the cello-part is noted in a self developed intervall-notation: within the individual sequence intervals are determinate, while the reference-note is always free. The material is shaped out of motion; the performers carry out simple manual activities, whereby the actual sounds appear as side-products of a production process.
